Energy scenario calculator

Explore how a change in an eligible workload could affect total IT energy consumption. This is an illustrative scenario model, not a CARMIX benchmark or savings forecast.

Average measured IT power during the modelled operating period—not installed capacity.
The portion of total IT energy associated with the workload you can address.
Your scenario assumption. This value is not a measured CARMIX result.
Hours at the stated average load and workload mix.
Gross electricity cost only. Licensing and implementation costs are excluded.

Illustrative scenario / annual IT energy

—

modelled reduction in total IT energy

—MWh per year
—gross electricity cost equivalent
Remaining IT energyModelled reduction

Assumes the same completed work and unchanged energy use outside the eligible share. Excludes cooling and other facility overhead. Does not predict deployable MW or additional GPUs.

How the calculation works

The model translates an assumed change in an eligible workload into annual IT energy. It does not infer a reduction from CARMIX or from any other product.

Total IT energy reduction
= eligible energy share × assumed reduction

Annual avoided energy is average IT load × equivalent hours × total IT energy reduction. Gross electricity cost equivalent is avoided MWh × €/MWh.

For example, if an eligible workload represents 20% of IT energy and its consumption falls by 20%, total IT energy falls by 4%, with everything else held constant.

Moving from that arithmetic to a capacity decision requires measured power over time and a review of cooling, space, networking and other limits.
